Opening to Joy: A Courage and Renewal Retreat
La Casa de Maria Retreat Center, Santa Barbara, California
March 26-27, 2015

“When you do things from your soul, you feel a river moving in you, a joy.” — Rumi

Joy is a natural emotion and yet can feel like a scarce resource. How can we live and work in the fullness of all that life brings - delights, sorrows, hardships, challenges, love, loss - and be open to the joy that is possible in each moment?

Seasoned Courage facilitators Kim Stokely and Penny Williamson will lead this Circle of Trust© retreat, pioneered by Dr. Parker Palmer, helping to create a space that both safeguards and encourages the inner journey. We will guide you through a 3-day process in which the noise within us and around us can subside, where introspection becomes possible. In large group, small group and solitary settings we will make use of stories from our own journeys, insights from poets, storytellers and various wisdom traditions, embodied practices to aid in our knowing, and the call of our hearts as a primary guide. Our experience is that in such a space participants gain opportunities to renew and open to the wholeness of their life.

We hope you can join us! (Early Bird Deadline for application: September 1, 2014. Please submit application no later than November 1, 2014.)
